Tam Dao is reached by road, commonly from Hanoi. Noi Bai Airport (HAN) can be a gateway for a wider northern trip, but onward transport must be arranged. A mountain road approach deserves more margin than a straight-line map distance suggests.
Separate tickets create separate responsibilities
A hotel transfer, an intercity service and a later flight may be sold independently. Ask each provider what its responsibility covers if the previous leg is delayed. A nominal gap on a timetable is not a protected connection. Where the journey has substantial uncertainty, consider a gateway overnight rather than spending the whole visit watching the clock.
