Hai Phong's Cat Bi Airport (HPH) is a mainland gateway. Ground and water connections, or a combined through-transfer, are needed to reach Cat Ba. Confirm the actual route and sailing arrangements with the operator; there is no mainline railway station on the island.
Work backwards from the fixed departure
Use the operating carrier or transport provider’s instructions for check-in and boarding, then add the local transfer and time to collect your bags. The remaining interval is your sightseeing window. A timetable estimate for a tour or shared vehicle should not consume the entire margin before a separate ticketed departure.
